Bellevue police investigate reports of exploded mailboxes
BELLEVUE, Washington -- Police are investigating reports of a string of possible exploded mailboxes in Bellevue overnight.
Q13 FOX News went to there scene of several of the reports and found at least one mailbox that was still smoking and had been clearly destroyed by something.
The first reports of damage were in the 1200 block of 164th Ave SE. The second reports came from the area near 2028 151st Ave SE.
Initial reports were that between 5 to 6 mailboxes may had been damaged in some way late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. But Bellevue Police said they were only aware of two actual boxes that had been damaged.
Bellevue Police are investigating, but said the cause was likely fireworks.
