Bellingham man found guilty of assault for shooting neighbor
BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — A Bellingham man has been convicted of assault for shooting his neighbor three times outside the front door of a duplex in 2013.
The Bellingham Herald reports that a jury on Wednesday found 29-year-old Kamuran Daniel Chabuk guilty of second-degree assault.
Chabuk testified that he shot 33-year-old Josh Mark Kiener in self-defense after his neighbor accused him of damaging his property.
Kiener survived gunshots to his abdomen and both legs. He testified that he did not believe Chabuk when the other man said he had not done anything.
A sentencing date has not been set.
