Best friend in shock over shooting deaths in Bellingham

Bellingham -- Community members gathered today at Lummi Nation High school to remember Mike and Miles Jordan detectives found them shot to death in their home in Whatcom County.

Mike Jordan's best friend, Gary Jensen said, "I’m still not believing it. I probably won’t believe it for a while. I didn’t expect that to my friend."

Jensen said he found out the news about his best friend while listening to the radio. He immediately pulled his car over and began making phone calls to family and friends.

Mike Jordan was the father of 17 month old Miles Jordan. Mike was days away from celebrating his 60th birthday.

Jensen said, "Mike was totally enjoying fatherhood because he had waited for a while to be a father so that’s  a great thing. Hopefully those few months were very precious."

A spokesperson for the Lummi Nation School District said Mr. Jordan will be sorely missed.

"Still trying to comprehend what happened and how it happened but it’s a devastating loss for me personally and the rest of the members of the community," Bernie Thomas said.
