Blaine schools to be closed Thursday due to power failure, district says

BLAINE, Wash. -- The Blaine School District said all schools would be closed Thursday due to a power failure on campus.

Carl Wagelie, director of transportation for the district, said there was a major electrical failure at the high school, which knocked out everything, including phones and the internet.

He had no information on what led to the power failure or how soon the electrical system might be repaired.
