Body found stabbed off Interurban Trail; police investigating

AUBURN -- Police are investigating after a man was found stabbed to death early Wednesday off the Interurban Trail in Auburn.

Police said they found the body around 5 a.m. near Main Street in Auburn and the Interurban Trail. The man of unknown age and identity appeared to be stabbed to death, officers said.

Officers are treating the case as a homicide, police said. The man may have been a transient, officers said.

The King County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the body.
