Body of 21-year-old Granite Falls man recovered from Stillaguamish River; drugs may be factor
ARLINGTON, Wash. -- The body of a 21-year-old Granite Falls man was recovered Wednesday from a shallow part of the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River, the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said.
A 911 caller said at about 6 p.m. that a man was seen floating in the river. When authorities arrived, they found an unresponsive man and began performing CPR, but he did not respond.
"Drugs are believed to have been a contributing factor in his death," the sheriff's office said, "but cause and manner (as well as identification) are pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office."
