Body recovered from Lewis County lake
CENTRALIA -- Divers recovered the body of a 65-year-old Lewis County man Tuesday, police said, after he drowned in a lake.
Around 11:45 a.m., Pierce County Metro Dive Team members removed the man's body from Plummers Lake in Centralia.
According to Centralia Police, dispatchers received a call around 11:55 a.m. Monday that a man had fallen into the water from his fishing boat while out on the small lake. Witnesses told police they saw the man swimming, but lost sight of him when he went under. He never resurfaced.
Police and fire/rescue units from multiple jurisdictions searched for the man Monday, but he was not found. The search was suspended until Tuesday morning.
The man's identity is being withheld until his extended family can be notified, police said. The Lewis County Coroner's Office will release his name when available.
