Bomb threat found at school near cougar sighting, classes evacuated

SNOHOMISH — First, staff instructed students of a local middle school to stay inside after a cougar was spotted Tuesday morning on a nearby trail.

Now, the school has been evacuated after a bomb threat was found scrawled in a bathroom.

Sheriff’s deputies spotted a cougar near Centennial Middle School in the 3000 block of Machias Road in Snohomish, deputies said. The cougar was seen heading toward the Centennial Trail away from the school.

Officials told students to stay inside during lunch.

A short time later, a threat was found written on a boys' bathroom wall. The school was evacuated, and the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office has been called to investigate the treat.
