Buc-ee's reveals managers can earn up to $275K without college degree

Popular gas station chain Buc-ee's has sparked an online debate after displaying signs advertising employee pay, including salaries of up to $275,000 a year for some store managers without a college degree.
According to Fox News Digital, photos of the signs have circulated widely online, showing starting wages of $20 an hour for cashiers, warehouse workers, maintenance employees and stockers. Food service managers can earn between $150,000 and $200,000 annually, while store general managers can make between $200,000 and $275,000 a year.
What they're saying:
An online debate began with some users saying that the trend is proof that six-figure careers are possible without a degree, while others argued the salary is a direct representation of the pressure and responsibility that comes with running a facility of that size.
"There are well-paying jobs available if you look for them," one commenter wrote. "They may not be glamorous, they may not be what you dreamed of... but they are there."

Another said Buc-ee's success makes the higher salaries understandable.
"But you are going to have to work," another commenter wrote. "No checking social media while you're working. No texting your friends while working."
Buc-ee's becoming beloved travel destination

Founded in 1982, Buc-ee’s is known for its large-scale gas stations and convenience stores. The change holds multiple records for the largest convenience store in the world and the longest car wash clocks.

Eric Bowman of TravelPulse told Fox News Digital that Buc-ee's has grown far beyond a typical gas station and is becoming a travel destination in its own right.
"Buc-ee's appeal is largely due to its large size," Bowman said. "People, especially those who love a good road trip, have long loved roadside attractions. That's what Buc-ee's has become."

The chain is in the midst of widening its national orbit with a rapid expansion push, opening multiple new locations in at least seven new states over the next two years: Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin.
A Buc-ee’s spokesperson confirmed to FOX Business that three more locations are set to open this year in Texas, Arkansas and Tennessee. In total, 12 new locations by 2028.
