Burglars caught stealing booze from Mexican restaurant

Liquor_Bottles_on_a_Bar_WallSEATTLE -- Two men were arrested early Monday morning after allegedly trying to steal bottles of booze from a Mexican restaurant.

According to the Seattle Police Department, officers were called to Don Eduardo’s Mexican restaurant around 12:35 a.m. in the 1800 block of Eastlake Avenue East by a security company that reported hearing voices inside the closed restaurant. The restaurant had been broken in several times in the past, police said, and the alarm company was on high alert.

Officers responded and noticed a broken window at the restaurant. A police K9 handler entered the building and searched the restaurant. One suspect was arrested and attempted to clear the building.

However, hours later, a second suspect was located hidden "deep within" a crawl space. Police were just ready to leave the building when the second suspect tripped the alarm.

Both suspects, ages 29 and 35, were arrested and booked into the King County Jail.
