Cab driver hit by errant bullet in drive-by shooting in Des Moines
DES MOINES, Wash. -- A cab driver was shot during a drive-by in Des Moines Monday night, but managed to drive to a store in SeaTac for help, police said.
The driver was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening wound to his abdomen, police said.
The shooting took place just before 10 p.m. in the 21800 block of 30th South, police said. There were reports of 10 to 15 shots fired.
The taxi cab driver had just dropped off a fare in the area when occupants of a green SUV started firing shots at three people walking on the street. The cab driver was hit in the abdomen.
The cab driver then drove himself to a 7-Eleven store in SeaTac, where 911 was called, and he was transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Police said they are looking for a green SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer.
