Computer glitch grounds Southwest flights
SEATTLE -- A computer glitch grounded Southwest Airlines flights Friday night including four at Sea-Tac Airport.
The airline said a system outage at about 8 p.m. caused it to hold all departing flights, mostly on the west coast.
The problem affected the airline's ability to conduct check-in, print boarding passes and check the weight of the aircraft.
Systems were back up and running before 11 p.m., and the airline began work getting passengers to their destinations.
Flights already in the air when the outage happened were not affected.
