Deal for Phoenix Coyotes still up in the air
Glendale, AZ---
The NHL board of governors will meet tomorrow with the Phoenix Coyotes situation still in limbo. The NHL put its foot down and has set a deadline vote date, set for Tuesday, July 2nd to push the Glendale City Council to decide on a tentative lease deal with Renaissance Sports and Entertainment. Both sides have tried to compromise on the amount of money the city of Glendale will pay Renaissance to operate the facility. The seven-person council is pretty split on the deal and if no decision is made, Seattle remains a "Plan B" for the team to relocate.
