Dedication ceremony for historic Tacoma bridge
TACOMA -- The Murray Morgan Bridge is being honored at 10 a.m. Friday.
The city will be holding a dedication ceremony near the intersection of 11th Street and A Street. Gov. Jay Inslee and other public officials are expected to speak.
The bridge will be closed at 1 p.m. for a classic car procession. Murray Morgan shut down more than five years ago after state transportation officials deemed it unsafe. The city began renovating the bridge in 2011.
The Murray Morgan Bridge first opened a century ago.
