Detached garage fire causes a whopping $200,000 in damage
LYNNWOOD, Wash. -- Snohomish County Fire District 1 estimated damage at more than $200,000 to a detached garage that burned Monday afternoon in unincorporated south Snohomish County.
Which raised the question -- exactly what kind of garage was that?
Snohomish County Fire District 1 explained in a news release that the fire heavily damaged most of the items in the two-story garage -- which included a hydroplane ... along with battery-powered cars, airplanes and boats.
A passerby called 911 just before 1 p.m. Monday to report smoke coming from a large garage in the 20700 block of Larch Way, east of Lynnwood.
When firefighters arrived, the district said, they found thick black smoke inside the 40-foot by 60-foot, two story metal building.
No one was injured in the fire, but the family's cat died.
A fire investigator determined the fire was mostly likely electrical, the district said.
