Doctors find half-pound 'egg' inside 62-year-old man

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A man lived more than 20 years with a mass inside his stomach before doctors discovered and removed it.

The mass resembled a hard-boiled egg in shape and its "firm, rubbery" texture, according to a newly published article in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Surgeons removed the mass in 2013, but a newly released video uploaded to YouTube shows its dramatic and striking appearance.

The mass measured about 4 inches by 3.5 inches by 3 inches and weighed nearly half a pound.

The patient had presented a history of "urinary frequency" for more than 20 years, according to medical records. But researchers said the urinary issues were no longer a problem after the mass was removed.
