Dog eats money, government pays owner back
SEATTLE -- Forget that old story about the dog eating homework, one Montana man's dog ate his money. Fortunately, the government is reimbursing him.
According to Fox News, Wayne Klinkel found his 12-year-old dog Sundance eating five $100 bills during a road trip last year. Klinkel waited for the dog to get the bills out of his system, then rinsed the pieces and taped them back together. He then sent the damaged bills to the Treasury Department, asking for a reimbursement.
After months of waiting, he got his $500 check from the government this week. And it was just in time -- right before the government shutdown.
