Drug deal gone bad sends man to hospital
SEATTLE -- A man drove himself to the hospital after being shot early Wednesday for refusing to give up his pot in an apparent drug deal gone bad, Seattle police said.
According to the Seattle Police Department, officers were called to the Northwest Hospital around 1 a.m. Tuesday when they received calls that a 45-year-old male checked himself into the hospital with gunshot wounds. Police interviewed the man, who said he met three unknown male suspects for a drug deal late Tuesday night near North 92nd Street and Woodlawn Avenue North. Sitting in the man's Cadillac Escalade, one of the drug buyers pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim handed over his pot. The victim refused and was shot twice, he told police.
The suspects stole the victim's pot and fled on foot. The victim managed to drive himself to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was being transported to Harborview Medical Center Wednesday morning.
Police are investigating the incident. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call 911 or the Seattle Police Robbery Unit at 206-684-5535.
