DUI crackdowns happening state-wide
SEATTLE -- Police are swarming the roads in what is being called an intense crackdown on impaired drivers.
The Washington State Patrol calls the beginning of summer the 100 deadliest days on our roadways.
Local and state police are on the hunt for drunk drivers between now and July 7.
“This is a spike in our season when people are making the choice to drink and drive, we’re out here to discourage that,” Trooper Karim Boukabou said.
Police said drivers under the .08 legal limit can still be locked up if they suspect drivers are impaired.
