Eastlake All-Stars in studio for Q It Up Sports
SEATTLE --Two white vans holding Q it Up Sport's Sunday night guests sped into the parking lot at 10:54 p.m. -- the doors opened and the Washington State Little League Champions came running out -- just in time for their TV debut and with two minutes of airtime to spare.
Eastlake Little League drove from Vancouver, Wash. to Seattle after claiming their title to be on the show. They defeated Federal Way 12-2 around 6 p.m., but with heavy traffic in Chehalis, it looked as if the team was not going to make it.
And the team's comeback is one for the books: After losing Game 1 in the tournament, the team won eight straight games through the losers bracket to earn the title of State Champions. They now advance to the Northwest Regional in San Bernardino, Calif.
The team that advances from the Northwest Regional will go on to compete in the Little League World Series in Pennsylvania. The last Washington team to make it to Pennsylvania was the 2010 Auburn Little League team.
