Endangered 13-year-old boy has been found safe, police say

LAKEWOOD -- The Lakewood Police Department said late Friday afternoon that a 13-year-old boy who walked away from the Child Study and Treatment Center on the grounds at Western State Hospital has been found safe.

The center is at 8805 Steilacoom Blvd. SW. He walked away at about 10:20 a.m. Friday.

At about 5:25 p.m., the Lakewood Police Department issued this statement: "Our young man has been found safe. Thank you all for your assistance."

Earlier, the police said the boy, Yabus Soma, is insulin-dependent diabetes and is unfamiliar with the area.
