Female driver dies in early morning crash on I-405
BELLEVUE, Wash. -- A 24-year-old female driver died after a semi struck her disabled vehicle early Monday morning near the intersection of Interstate 90 and Interstate 405, the Washington State Patrol said.
The crash occurred shortly before 5 a.m. on southbound I-405 near Exit 11 at mile post 12. According to initial reports, Alea Price was driving a Scion that hit a deer, causing her to stop her car. The vehicle remained in the lanes of traffic when her car was rear-ended by a semi truck.
Price was pronounced dead by medics shortly after the crash. The driver of the semi was not injured.
The left three lanes of southbound I-405 near the crash were closed for 3-1/2 hours following the crash.
