WA Gov. Ferguson orders flags raised for Trump inauguration

Recently sworn-in Governor Bob Ferguson has ordered flags to be raised for Inauguration Day.

The backstory:

Flags across the state, and the nation, are currently at half-mast in honor of former President Jimmy Carter who died on Dec. 29

Traditionally, flags are lowered for 30 days after a president dies.

What's next:

Donald Trump's second inauguration is set for Monday, Jan. 20. Gov. Ferguson joins a growing list of governors ordering flags to temporarily be raised back up for the day.

Flags will return to half-staff on Tuesday, Jan. 20 until Jan. 30.
