Fife police investigate 'inappropriate contact' accusation at day camp
FIFE -- The alleged incident happened at a day camp sponsored by the Fife Department of Parks and Recreation at Columbia Junior High School.
City officials say a 9-year-old passed a note to a camp counselor accusing a 14-year-old "counselor in training" of inappropriate contact.
An investigation was launched and the teenager was removed from camp.
City officials stressed that while the alleged incident happened at the Junior High School, the school district has nothing to do with the camp.
Parents we spoke with called the case an isolated incident and they expressed confidence in the Parks and Recreation program.
