Final man hospitalized after Priest Rapids Dam explosion released

SEATTLE (AP) — The last of six men treated for burns at a Seattle hospital after an electrical explosion at a hydroelectric dam on the Columbia River has been discharged.

Harborview Medical Center spokeswoman Susan Gregg said in a news release the man left the hospital on Monday.

The Grant County Public Utility District workers were treated at Harborview and other hospitals for burns sustained in the Oct. 8 explosion.

Officials have said the explosion at the Priest Rapids Dam was caused by an electrical equipment malfunction.

The publicly-owned utility serves about 46,000 customers in Grant County, which is about 150 miles east of Seattle.
