Foggy birth for baby on I-5
SEATTLE -- If there was any day to birth a baby on Interstate 5, Wednesday morning's fog wouldn't be bad for privacy.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a long backup northbound I-5 around 8 a.m. was caused by emergency crews helping a woman mid-labor.
The Seattle Times reported the 22-year-old woman was on her way to the hospital when she experienced intense labor pains on I-5 near Boeing Access Road and had to pull over. Tukiwla Fire workers drove to assist the woman, and helped her into an emergency vehicle before the baby was delivered.
The Seattle Times said the woman made it to Swedish Medical Center in time to have her baby.
Traffic heading into Seattle was backed up for some time following the incident.
