Former Sonics player, ex-EWU coach arrested on domestic violence charge
SPOKANE, Wash. -- Craig Ehlo, former Seattle Sonics player and recent basketball coach at Eastern Washington University, was arrested in Spokane Thursday on a felony domestic violence charge, the Spokesman-Review said.
Spokane County sheriff’s deputies arrested Ehlo, 51, on charges of first-degree reckless burning, domestic violence, the sheriff’s office told the newspaper.
No other details were released.
Ehlo resigned from EWU on July 11. He also worked as a television analyst for the Seattle Sonics and Gonzaga University.
Ehlo played at Washington State University from 1981-1983 before he was drafted into the NBA by the Houston Rockets. He played for 14 seasons with the Rockets, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Atlanta Hawks and Sonics.
Ehlo spent the prime of his career with Cleveland. Before the 1996–97 season, he signed with the Seattle SuperSonics, and was used sparingly.
