Frozen pipes force Tukwila school to close
TUKWILA -- On Tuesday, staff members at Cascade View Elementary cancelled class because frozen pipes suddenly burst and created a big mess inside the school.
Parents were informed about the closure by school staff members as they tried to drop off their children. Cascade View Elementary staff members say they don't know when the school will reopen. They informed parents to contact the Tukwila School District for more information.
The district would not release information about how much damage was done or where the burst occurred in the school.
Parents who found out moments before the opening bell had to scramble to find child care for their children.
Dozens of parents said they had no idea the incident occurred until this morning.
