Girl hit by car while crossing Yelm Highway to get on school bus
OLYMPIA, Wash. -- A 13-year-old girl was injured Tuesday morning when she was hit by a car while trying to get to a school bus.
Authorities were called around 7 a.m. to Yelm Hwy SE at Spurgeon Creek Rd SE in Thurston County.
According to the Thurston County Sheriff's Office, the girl was conscious when she was taken to the hospital. She suffered a broken leg and head injuries.
The Yelm Highway was blocked in both directions for a short time.
Deputies are investigating the crash. No further details have been released.
