Gunfire reportedly exchanged among those in 3 different cars in Rainier Beach; no known injuries

SEATTLE -- Seattle police gang detectives were investigating a shooting involving three different cars in the Rainer Beach neighborhood Thursday night.

Police said officers were in the 9200 block of Rainier Ave South when they heard gunfire at about 7:45 p.m.

According to witnesses, gunfire was exchanged among the occupants of three different vehicles.

Witnesses reported to officers that after the shooting one of the suspect cars drove to a nearby business and ditched a gun in the bushes. Officers have since recovered the gun, as well as shell casings from the scene, which are being collected as evidence.
