Hello summer! Too bad it doesn't feel like it

Summer officially begins at 10:04 p.m., which is the Summer Solstice.  But today will be rainy, chilly and a little breezy.  Highs will only be in the low 60s.  Showers taper off on Friday and it'll be a little warmer -- mid-to-upper 60s.  Saturday looks terrific -- mostly sunny, mid 70s.  Great for the Solstice Parade's naked bike riders!  But there is a chance of a little rain on Sunday.  This is still uncertain as computer models are divergent.  It should still be in the 70s.  Next week looks unsettled, with showers likely Monday & Tuesday and highs below normal -- upper 60.  Wednesday looks drier, but there's still a chance of showers.  Welcome Summer -- Northwest style.

An amazing halo last Saturday was widespread and long-lasting. Here's a view of it over the Columbia Tower in Seattle. From Renee.

A long-lasting and widespread halo amazed lots of us on Saturday. Here's a view of it, with a secondary rainbow-like halo segment -- rare to see! From Kathy in Chehalis.
