Hundreds enjoy Christmas dinner in Pioneer Square

SEATTLE - The holiday spirit was shared by more than 500 people at the Union Gospel Mission on Christmas night.  Instead of the traditional turkey or ham dinner, diners enjoyed a holiday meal of ribeye steak, baked potatoes and all the fixings.

More than 33,000 pounds of donated food was provided by the ESS Noble Discoverer, an oil ship coming into dock for the season, a spokesperson for the Union Gospel Mission said.

Approximately 1350 meals were served on Christmas at the Union Gospel Mission's sites across King County.
