Injured woman airlifted off Mount St. Helens
STEVENSON- A Vancouver woman was airlifted from Mount St. Helens this morning after falling into a snow cave.
Alana McCammon, 28, spent the night in the snow cave with a friend after being injured in the fall near Monitor Ridge.
The Skamania Couty Sheriff's Office received a call at 8:45pm last night from a call box on the mountain. It took EMS personnel 2 1/2 hours to reach her from the trailhead.
She was airlifted from the mountain to the command post, where she was transported by ambulance to Peace Health SW Medical Center.
The extent of her injuries were unavailable.
