Insurance shoppers beware: Health site may not be the 'official' version
WASHINGTON -- As Washington residents get ready to shop for health insurance under the new Obamacare program, consumer groups are warning them not to be fooled by 'official-looking' websites.
The Seattle Times reports that if you go to 'washingtonhealthplanfinder.org' you'll see what looks like an insurance-shopping site.
It's actually run by a private company, which bought the domain name from godaddy.com. Though it offers many of the same plans the state site does, according to the newspaper, it's not the official government-run site. You can find that at 'wahealthplanfinder.org'.
Officials from the Washington Health Benefit Exchange say they are concerned about the potential for confusion.
