Interview: World Autism Awareness Day

SEATTLE -- The United Nations wants the international community to take notice of a growing problem among children and adults, urging more needs to be done for patients and families dealing with Autism.

The announcement came Tuesday, coinciding with World Autism Awareness Day. U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is pushing for more social programs for those living with the disorder, to help them achieve their full potential.

Dr. Bryan H. King, director of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Seattle Children's Hospital and the program director at Seattle Children's Autism Center, talked Tuesday about autism and the road ahead for patients.
