Jogger left for dead in West Seattle
WEST SEATTLE -- Police are looking for the driver who hit a woman jogging in West Seattle early Saturday morning, said Seattle Police Spokesman Jeff Kappel.
Shortly after 7 a.m., a passerby called 911 to report a woman was found unconscious on the side of the road in the 2300 block of Fairmount Avenue SW.
No vehicles or people were seen around the scene, said police.
Investigators believe the 53 year old woman was running when she was struck by a vehicle.
Police said the operator of that vehicle failed to stop and render aid, call police or provide information and left the scene.
Medics treated the jogger at the scene, then transported her to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Call police if you have any information about the accident or the identity of the driver.
