Kennewick stepfather suspected of abusing baby

KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a Kennewick man on suspicion of abusing his infant stepson.

KNDO-TV reports (http://goo.gl/cuHoSD ) that Zak Wilding was arrested Sunday and booked into the Benton County Jail.

Officers responded to a hospital where Wilding's wife, Kelcee Taggart, took her two-month-old son because the child would not stop crying.

Doctors found that the baby was suffering from acute subdural hematoma, a blood condition outside the brain. The child also had fractures to his ribs, arms and legs that were healing.

Officers say the injuries were consistent with abuse.

The boy was taken to a Spokane hospital for treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Officers spoke with Wilding after they responded to the hospital and arrested him.
