Kent apartment fire investigated as possible arson; 3 injured



KENT -- An arson investigation is underway after a fire ripped through an apartment building Thursday morning. Kent Fire and Rescue identified a person of interest after he was rescued by two people who ran into the building to save him.

When firefighters got to the Lake Fenwick Estates Apartment complex, flames and smoke were shooting from the third floor. Firefighters say two neighbors ran into the apartment to pull the man out.  All three of them are now being treated at local hospitals.

The fire was contained to a small section of the apartment complex which is located at 24849 46th Ave S.

Investigators say the man who they are now questioning lives in the apartment where the fire started. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
