FUGITIVE CAPTURED December 3rd, 2014 -- The Kent Police Department with assistance from the Valley Narcotics Task Force and Valley SWAT arrested Gabriel Acena on Wednesday night. Acena was wanted by the King County Sheriff's Office for heroin dealing and has been convicted of manslaughter. He was booked into the King County Jail.
WANTED IN KING COUNTY October 3rd, 2014 -- The hunt is on for Gabriel Acena, who was convicted of manslaughter in the beating and deadly shooting of a Fort Lewis soldier near the Space Needle on New Year’s Eve, back in 2001. The disturbing video shown in court shows Acena and two other men viciously beat 20 year old Patrick Franz, before shooting him five times after a party. Acena pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to six and a half years in prison. He got out in 2006, and has been in and out of trouble ever since.
King County detectives says he's deep into heroin. That's what he was busted with outside an espresso stand in Des Moines earlier this year, where he was acting strangely and caused a barista to call 911 on him. He got out of jail and never showed up to court, so now he has a warrant out for his arrest. "Acena's a loose cannon,” says King County Det. Jason Stanley. “He's got a dangerous history, and right now he's a drug dealer who has a $50,000 felony warrant for dealing drugs, and we also know that he's using his own product. He stays in the Kent and Renton area and is probably staying in motels."
