Kitsap burglar gets "crowned" and sent to the hospital
CENTRAL KITSAP - Some people are just naturally hard-headed. Police said that a certain burglar in Kitsap county found that out, the 'hard' way, the Kitsap Sun reported.
A 27-year-old transient was reportedly burglarizing the garage of a home in the 8700 block of Holly Road Sunday night when the homeowner confronted the crook, who took several items from the garage before fleeing into the woods.
A neighbor organized other neighbors into a make-shift search to look for the burglar, the paper reported. A bit later, the alleged burglar walked out of the woods and was confronted by a 16 year-old boy, who lived in the area. A confrontation between the teen and the burglar developed, with the teen hitting the crook over the head with a crowbar, police said.
The injured man was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was listed in serious condition, the Sun reported.
Kitsap sheriff's deputies are still investigating the burglary.
