Kitsap County man shot by sheriff's deputies, reports say
PORT ORCHARD -- At least one man was shot by Kitsap County sheriff's deputies Tuesday afternoon, the Port Orchard Independent reported.
According to the Independent, deputies shot a man shortly before 1:30 p.m. in the 8000 block of Bethel Burley Road. It is unclear what sparked the incident, or if any sheriff's deputies were injured.
Sheriff's deputy Scott Wilson confirmed a man was shot in the chest at that location, but could not confirm it was an officer-involved shooting.
The Independent reported deputies were at the rural property in response to a call of domestic violence. The wounded man was reportedly taken to St. Joseph's hospital in Tacoma.
Part of Bethel-Burley Road was closed by Washington State Patrol following the incident.
