Large fire department reponse to West Seattle home
SEATTLE, Wash - A two-alarm fire in West Seattle kept firefighters busy Sunday night. A fire department spokesperson said that the fire in the 5200 block of 18th Avenue Southwest was reported just before 7 p.m.
The fire may have started in a semi-attached garage and then spread to a house and into the attic, Lt Sue Stangl told Q13FOX News.
Firefighters had a difficult time entering the home, which was filled with items, possibly indicating that the residents were "hoarders", Stangl confirmed.
Firefighters got the fire under control and the cause of the fire is under investigation, Stangl said.
There were no reported injuries to occupants or fire crews; the American Red Cross is assisting the six adults who may have been living at the home.
