SUMNER -- A major natural gas line break Tuesday was quickly resolved by emergency workers.

East Pierce Fire and Rescue reports that a four-inch gas line ruptured at 1515 Puyallup St. in Sumner's industrial neighborhood, just after 8 a.m.

“Fire crews report a large column of natural gas visible,” said assistant Fire Chief Jim Jaques.

Puget Sound Energy was quickly on the scene and the incident was quickly resolved, officials said.
