Man accused of kidnapping, raping employee of Olympia group home

OLYMPIA -- Police have arrested a 24-year-old Olympia man for allegedly kidnapping and raping a woman who works at a group home in west Olympia.

The victim told police said at about 2:15 a.m. a man who she recognized as a previous employee at the group home came to the door and said that he was there to work with her. She let him in, she said, and a short time later he pulled her into the garage, tied her up and then drove her to a secluded spot off Ensign Road in northeast Olympia, where he sexually assaulted her, Olympia police said.

The victim was able to escape from the suspect several hours after being kidnapped and immediately called police.

Olympia setectives identified the suspect as a 24-year-old Olympia man and arrested him at his home and was booked into the Thurston County Jail on suspicion of first-degree kidnapping, rape and robbery.

The victim, who sustained multiple injuries, was treated at St. Peter’s Hospital and released, police said.
