Man accused of robbing Denny's after eating big breakfast
OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) — A sheriff's deputy arrested an Oregon man accused of robbing a Denny's restaurant after eating the "Lumberjack Slam" breakfast.
Detective Sgt. Dan Kraus of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says the suspect went to the restaurant early Monday and ate eggs, hash browns, pancakes, bacon, sausage and toast. When he was done, he took his server to the cash register at gunpoint and emptied it.
Kraus says a patrol deputy later stopped a car matching the description of the suspect's vehicle, and found the handgun and the cash.
The sheriff's office identified the suspect as 58-year-old Robert Lee Davenport of Eugene. He was booked into jail on a charge of first-degree robbery.
