Man killed in SR 3 crash in Kitsap County identified
POULSBO, Wash. -- Washington State Patrol troopers are investigating a crash involving a truck and two cars that killed a man Tuesday in Kitsap County.
The crash happened just before 7:00 a.m. on State Route 3, just south of the Big Valley Road interchange.
WSP said the van was heading northbound when it crossed the centerline and struck a car head-on. The van was then pushed back into the northbound lanes where a third car struck it.
The Poulsbo Fire Department said the man who died was driving a white panel van. He was later identified as 65-year-old Douglas Ranney.
A man in a large work truck and a man in a small car were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Trooper Russ Winger said SR 3 reopened several hours after the crash. The cause is still under investigation.
