Man OK after car plunges into river
TUKWILA, Wash. -- Police rescued a man who drove his car into the Duwamish Waterway around 3:30 a.m. Monday.
Police said the man's car ended up in the river near the 12000 block of Gateway Drive in Tukwila. Police were called to the scene quickly and able to rescue the car's lone driver. He did not suffer any injuries. The river only sits about waist deep where the man's car plunged in, police said.
A tow-truck was called to the scene around 4 a.m. to extract the car.
Authorities were unsure how or why the man drove his car into the waterway.
