Man rams cop car, hides under deck
SEATTLE -- Police arrested a suspected car thief Tuesday morning in West Seattle after he allegedly rammed a witness with his stolen car, hit a cop car and then sped off, only to be spotted later hiding under a deck.
A witness called 911 around 10:20 a.m. to say they were following a man driving a stolen grey pickup truck filled with landscaping equipment. The suspect noticed the man following him and allegedly rammed the caller near the intersection of 53rd Avenue SW and SW Admiral, ending the chase.
A short time later, a patrol officer spotted the car, and the suspect again took action, smashing the front of the stolen car into the police vehicle. The policeman was uninjured, but his car was disabled.
The suspect was forced to bail out of the beaten truck and run away. Officers found him hiding under the deck near the intersection of 40th Avenue SW and SW Holly Street. He was arrested and booked into King County Jail.
