SEATTLE --  The courier thought he was making a routine delivery, but police said what happened was anything but routine. Police said that a man delivering five ounces of medical marijuana to a home in Tacoma was robbed at gunpoint by two men Thursday.

The courier knocked on the door of a home and was confronted by a 29-year-old man with a gun, along with a 17-year-old youth, police said.

According to the courier, the holdup happened at a vacant house in the 6000 block of South Yakima Avenue. The courier told police he was delivering $792 worth of pot to a customer who had phoned in an order, but when the door opened the man with the gun told the courier "to throw him the stuff or die," court documents state.

The courier did as he was told -- he threw the pot and then the men slammed the door shut. The courier called police who responded with a canine unit and police quickly arrested the two suspects.

The 29-year-old man was charged with first-degree robbery, two counts of first-degree criminal trespass and unlawful possession of a firearm. Police recovered a gun and the marijuana, court documents said.
