Mother, daughter attacked and robbed by group in Seattle's Capitol Hill
SEATTLE -- Seattle police arrested a teen suspected of robbing a mother and daughter Saturday night on Capitol Hill.
According to investigators, a mother, 37, and her daughter, 17, were walking on E Union Street near Broadway Court just before midnight when they were approached by a group of two women and four men. The women struck the mother in the face, someone grabbed her purse and knocked her down.
Police said the suspects also punched the daughter when she tried to help her mother.
The suspects fled the scene after the attack.
Witnesses said they saw two men throw a purse into the garbage can after running away. Officers found the purse, but her phone and wallet were gone.
Medics treated the victims for minor injuries.
Police said they located one of the suspects, a 17-year-old girl, and booked her into the Youth Services Center for investigation of robbery.
